Noematrix, a strategic incubation company of Flexiv, recently announced the successful completion of its Pre-A+ funding round, raising hundreds of millions of RMB. Noematrix was incubated by Flexiv, a leader in the field of general-purpose intelligent robotics for nearly a decade. ZhenFund previously participated in Flexiv’s Series A round.
This round was led by Sequoia China, with continued backing from Prosperity7 Ventures, Xiaomiao Langcheng, and Plug and Play China. Advancing rapidly from seed to Pre-A+ within a year, Noematrix has now completed three consecutive funding rounds, consistently attracting leading global investors and earning strong support from existing shareholders.
Founded in November 2023, Noematrix focuses on developing embodied intelligence systems and related tools and platforms. Adopting a technology-driven, product-first strategy, the company aligns closely with the growing market demand for intelligent agents. Noematrix has launched its self-developed Noematrix Brain, an embodied intelligence system characterized by versatility and openness, enabling seamless compatibility with diverse hardware architectures. The system has already achieved a breakthrough with hundred-unit orders in a single scenario, while its end-to-end training on complex meta-capabilities balances generalization and real-world deployment requirements, pushing the boundaries of robotic applications.
Co-founder Cewu Lu conducted postdoctoral research at the Stanford AI Lab under Professor Fei-Fei Li and Professor Leo Guibas. Currently a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Lu is among China’s pioneering researchers in embodied intelligence. He is also the only recipient of the Scientific Exploration Award in this field and was named to the MIT Technology Review’s TR35 list.
Co-founder Shiquan Wang holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and serves as a visiting professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University as well as a standing member of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology. In 2016, he founded Flexiv, pioneering a humanoid general-purpose robotics technology pathway based on force control precision and hierarchical intelligence.
This new round of funding will primarily support product development, talent acquisition, commercialization efforts, and ecosystem partnerships, further strengthening Noematrix’s technological advantages.
